Now... don't be thinking this is made from those artificially flavored fluff balls you see in the grocery store. Those do not even contain real Marshmallow anymore! This is a real root! And it's so good for your skin! See last photo!

This soap makes a beautiful face soap!

Marshmallow Root has been used historically to treat inflammation and ulcers and for health of the digestive tract, to relieve irritation of the mouth and throat. Helps with bronchitis and asthma. Makes a soothing gargle for a sore throat and can be mixed with slippery elm for a stronger effect.

References to marshmallow root as a healing herb are found in Homer's Iliad, written over 2,800 years ago. Its genus name Althaea comes from the Greek altho, to cure, and its order name, Malvaceae, is derived from the Greek malake, soft Marshmallow root was widely used in traditional Greek medicine.

The use of the herb spread from Greece to Arabia and India, where it became an important herb in the Ayurvedic and Unani healing traditions.

The scent: This soap is super creamy and smells like a confectioner's dream! No fragrance oils are added, it is scented only with Organic Benzoin essential oil to give it a sweet, sensual aroma.

Weight: Each bar weighs approx. 4.5 - 5 oz.
Size: Approx. 2.5” x 3.5”. Due to the handmade, hand cut nature, size and weight may vary slightly.

About my soaps: All my soaps are made using the cold process method. Cold process soap is made with lye. Lye is a natural ingredient made from wood ash. Once the soap has gone through the saponification process, which turns oils and lye into soap, there is no lye present in the cured, finished bar.

Handmade in small batches.
After the soap is made and cut into bars by hand, the leftover ends and pieces are used for samples, so none is wasted.

This handcrafted soap contains:
Saponified Olive Oil, Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, Castor Oil.
Essential Oils of Benzoin.
With the addition of Organic Marshmallow Root.
