The Cauldron
Our namesake!
In Celtic mythology, the cauldron is associated with the Goddess Cerridwen, and it also represents the womb. Placed on your Altar, it represents the Earth. Representing all elements, earth, air, fire + water, its shape reflects the soul of Mother Nature, the three legs, the Triple Goddess and the three phases of the moon, waxing, full and waning. The Cauldron is also a symbol of enlightenment and transformation.
The Cauldron is a traditional cooking pot for both food and medicines. The Cauldron is also used for burning herbs, incense, resins, incense powders, casting powders and more. Cauldrons are also great for hanging over the fire and simmering your favorite brews.
It is said that any who brew in a Cauldron will be the receivers of good luck. Irish folklore is filled with stories about Cauldrons that never run out of food or medicines. Odin, of Norse mythology is said to have received some of his powers by drinking from a Cauldron. There are also many tales of rebirth using the Cauldron throughout many cultures.
Use your cauldron where you like, on your Altar, inside your magic circle, inside, outside, day or night. Not recommended for stovetop use. Keep your cauldron clean between uses and oil regularly with The Earth's Cauldron's own brand of Cauldron Conditioning Creme.
Please remember, these are cast iron and very heavy. You are paying actual shipping costs.
*** IMPORTANT NOTE: Cauldrons available these modern days have been painted over in black. This is customary of the day. There may be an occasional chip of paint inside, especially where the lid sits, or a blemish here and there. I see no chips of paint on the outsides. Personally, I always burn my paint off, to bare iron, but that is time consuming, dangerous and is a personal choice. Also note that there may be slight imperfections from time to time or an occasional bump or burr due to the casting. ***
